Has anyone in MLB ever hit the ball so hard it actually went into outer space?

Possibly Sammy Sosa or Barry Bonds when they did all those steroids? And if they did do it do you think the ball is still in orbit around the earth? My friend told me that someone did it and now that ball is in orbit and circles the earth every few days. He says if you look close enough you can see it with a telescope. I tend to think he is lying but he is adamant about it being true. Any help in proving him wrong would be much appreciated!
