Ugh I need help. Please?

There is a guy I have been infatuated with for 3 years for some odd reason. One day, (i didnt even know he existed back then really. I just saw him a few times in the halls at school but that was it) I had a dream about this stranger dude and in this dream, he was was holding my hands and looked deeply into my eyes and said "this is true love" & I woke up(haha I still remember it clearly). So ever since that dream, I started noticing him a lot more and just became infatuated with him. it went on for 3 years and all my friends tried to help me get over him but they all failed... So after 2 years of trying, they gave up. I kept telling myself "he will never like me, its just not going to work" etc but of course I failed too. I honestly dont know why I cant get over him ): there's a part of me that actually want to keep trying because I believe in true love and that stuff but idk.. Help? :/ what should I do?
