Why are my croton's leaves yellow?

I bought a croton about 2 weeks ago, and it looks fabulous. However, the leaves up top are turning completely yellow (i.e. no green veins). Is this a sign of problems, or is this normal coloration for this type of plant? I'm watering often enough, and I have a large saucer of pebbles with water underneath the plant to increase humidity.
