Bereavement (death of a child)?

my fiance lost his 8 year old son recently. He was serving in Kuwait while he was sick and came to the stateside on emergency leave. within a few days after he got there his son died. now he has to return to kuwait for another 4 months and im not sure how i can help him. thing is that hes come from a very struggling background. no real family. the onyl thing that was "his" is now gone. how can i help him, especially bc hes serving somewhere and im thousands of miles away?
