Bible question about Rapture and Tribulation?

I'm kinda confused. The rapture which is when jesus returns is that before or after the tribulation. I think It's after because it says in the bible I think that Petra/Jordan will be the only safe place on earth to hide fomr the antichrist. Thanks!!
